Holistic Heath Care Benefits

August 21, 2017 By Pam Rezai Leave a Comment

There is a lot of averages out there:

  • body temperature
  • weight based on height
  • blood pressure
  • menstrual cycle length
  • hours of sleep
  • hours of physical activity per week

But who is really average? If we are average then does that mean we are all the same? Would that mean each disease or condition is exactly like that of another person so diagnosis and treatment should be the same? Yet, that is exactly what we are led to believe. The truth is that we are each uniquely different, with our own set of averages. Our normal may be a lower blood pressure than another. Or we may require less sleep than someone else. For a woman, her cycle could be 32 days, not 28 as modern medicine suggests.

If we prescribe to the idea of averages, then we may believe there is something wrong with us if we aren’t. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. Holistic medicine, what is practiced by a chiropractor, approaches diseases and chronic conditions from a different perspective. What manifests as a symptom, is really the end result of several factors. These factors are what needs to be identified, rather than simply addressing the symptoms. For example, if a person is suffering from chronic migraines, a prescription for pain only fixes the pain – temporarily. What causes the migraine in the first place has yet to be identified.

Wellness is a state of being. One where each system of the body is working in harmony with the others, as it was intended. To a Doctor of Chiropractic, the migraine only provides a clue as to what the source is. By working with the patient to uncover their personal health history, lifestyle factors, and other unrelated symptoms, the root cause is found. There are no averages, only unique factors.

There are trends in medicine today that breakaway from the law of average such as in cancer treatment. Doctors in this field recognize that each patient has a unique diagnosis, with different treatment responses. This approach has increased the number of people and the years of survivorship tremendously, especially within certain cancer types. Wellness doesn’t need to wait for a cancer diagnosis for you to benefit from a holistic approach to your health.

What Does Healthy Really Mean?

June 29, 2017 By Pam Rezai Leave a Comment

What does healthy really mean? Think about it for a minute. When you take the time to determine what it means to be healthy, what do you think of? Some of us may think being skinny means healthy. Others may equate well-defined muscles as a sign of healthy. Still others may think it’s living a long life. While all of these might be true, it still doesn’t answer the question of what being healthy means, especially to ourselves. We are each unique individuals, all traveling a separate path in life. While we may walk together, our journeys are vastly different. Not only that, but our body’s are also uniquely different as well. This is definitely not new information for you. However, what is likely new is the fact that healthy is a unique experience for each and every person.

Perhaps the best way to help you determine what healthy means to you is to do a self-assessment. An inventory of you, where you are at in your life, where you want to go from here. It’s probably safe to say that many of us are just too busy getting through each day to really focus on ourselves. Many of us are probably a little scared to even think about it. Not because something is terribly wrong, but because we don’t know where we are going to find the time to help ourselves get to where we want to be. Time to re-prioritize.

So, if you would be able to see the future, would you want to? What about two different futures? One where you routinely did a self-assessment on your health and changed what needed changing, the other where you continually chose to ignore yourself. If only we had the ability to see ahead of time the impact of our decisions before we made them. Would that alter how we live our lives today?

For the sake of reality, let’s take that self-assessment to determine what healthy really means to you.

  • Are you tired right now? Do you always feel tired? If you could sneak a nap in right now, would you take it? When was the last time you woke up feeling refreshed?
  • How do your joints feel right now?
  • What is the scale telling you about your weight? Do you feel comfortable and confident in your clothes?
  • How does your skin look?
  • Are you eating healthy foods? If so, how much?
  • Do you feel stressed during the day?
  • When was the last time you took care of you?

Take your time and answer these questions with honesty. The next blog post will address the issue of what it means to really be healthy.

Who’s Carrying Your ‘Journey of Life’ Baggage?

June 27, 2017 By Pam Rezai Leave a Comment

The country of Nepal, located in southern Asia, is best known for the majestic Himalayan Mountains. Mount Everest plays the starring role, as many seek to conquer its incredible height by climbing. To reach the top requires extensive training, the highest quality equipment, and an expert to guide you. Perhaps the most important of all three is the guide. In Nepal, these guides are called sherpas. These natives not only guide but carry the climber’s equipment, which is usually more than 100 pounds. In order to reach the top of Everest, a sherpa is a must.

We can compare the journey of life to that of climbing a mountain like Mount Everest. When we are young, we find ourselves at the base of the mountain. There’s really no need for specific gear, aside from proper walking shoes maybe. The journey is easy. As a child, we recover quickly from injury, get plenty of sleep, don’t worry much, and eat what we want.

As we begin our ascent, we may not even realize it because the incline is so slight. Yet, we are still moving forward in our journey of life, into our teen years and early adulthood. Many of us play sports, enjoying the intensity of it. But that also comes with more intense injuries from fractures, concussions, and even surgery to repair things. Again, we recover quickly. We are young. Eating what we want, when we want – like those midnight fast-food runs!

Climbing still further up that mountain, we begin to feel the incline. We need more gear to keep us moving forward. The sherpa is ready for this. In our life, our 20s and 30s mean career and kids. This also means lack of sleep, a more sedentary lifestyle, and a body that takes on a bit more weight than it should. But, it seems to be the norm for people your age so you just accept it.

As the climb continues, the oxygen levels get thinner, the temperature decreases, and the journey much more difficult. Thank goodness for the sherpa and all that extra gear. If only we had a sherpa in real life! Unfortunately, we are our own sherpa, carrying all the baggage we accumulate over the years. From extra weight from lack of exercise; fatigue from lack of sleep due to career, kids, hot flashes, pregnancy, and worry; to injuries we might have sustained from accidents or falls. In other words, life happens.

The good news is that we can choose to offload some of the “gear” we are carrying as our own sherpa through self-care. In other words, we can choose to lose that extra weight, we can choose to help ourselves handle stress through massage or working out, we can choose to resolve that pain we have been dealing with for years. A solution like this does not just happen. It requires a commitment to oneself and the desire for change.

DCW can be your sherpa in life. Helping you to offload extra “gear” that you really don’t need on your journey of life whether it be extra weight, chronic pain, or stress. The nature of your climb is in your hands.

Evolving Corporate Wellness Programs

June 20, 2017 By Pam Rezai Leave a Comment

Corporate Wellness Programs are a popular benefit at many companies throughout the country. Used to attract and retain top employees, wellness programs also help to keep healthcare costs down and employee productivity up. During a recent conversation with a Corporate Wellness employee at a local company, the topic of weight loss came up. Employees are becoming resistant to enrolling in a public weight loss program at their company. It’s not that the employee doesn’t want to lose weight either. What it really comes down to is the public display of private information – their actual weight.

In reality, the truth can hurt, it can also be embarrassing. We know when we should lose weight. And how much. But do we really want the world, or in this case every coworker, to know this? So, in response to this shift from “Biggest Loser” is a culture of movement. In a society where people are sedentary most of the day, the trend is now towards moving the body, in addition to eating healthy. Besides, weight loss is only one component of healthy living. Plus, what you weigh does not necessarily mean you are unhealthy either. So, the focus is now shifting to movement.

Movement is a choice. And businesses all across the country are looking at ways to infuse movement throughout a work day from:

  • encouraging the use of stairs vs the elevator
  • taking a walk during lunch or a break
  • purchasing standing desks
  • creating a space for fun such as adding ping pong tables, a weight room, or walking trails
  • supporting a local 5k charity event
  • partnering with a local gym to offer discounted memberships
  • offering lunch and learns to educate and inform employees about maintaining good health

Losing weight and getting healthy has never been any easier, especially when the workplace promotes it, too. The shift from public weight loss programs and contests has actually made for even better wellness programs. But even if your company does not offer these wellness benefits, you can take matters into your own hands by choosing the path of movement when given an option.

Stopping the Domino Effect With DCW

June 16, 2017 By Pam Rezai Leave a Comment

There is a major commonality between the people who attend a sporting event, concert or even a race. The energy one’s feels is almost palpable. If it’s a highly contested game, the last few minutes are deafening from all the cheering. It seems like everyone in the stadium is caught up in the quest for victory. Or at a concert, the final act can bring every person to their feet, singing the song in unison with the artist. At a race like the Flying Pig Marathon, all the runners in the ques are eagerly awaiting the starting gun. The common excitement on each face is obvious.

In all three situations, there is a common feeling. This shared interest has momentum and creates a sense of belonging. Sometimes life throws us a curve ball that derails us from living fully. It could be chronic pain from a past injury, extra weight hindering our mobility, or type 2 diabetes causing lifestyle changes. At this point in our life, we have two choices. The first is to do nothing, accept the situation as it is and let the chips fall where they may. It certainly is the easier of the two because it requires zero effort on our part. However, there are consequences with any choice and this choice is no different.

Choosing to do nothing creates a domino effect. If we are suffering from chronic pain and choose to do nothing about it, we may put on even more weight because we are more sedentary. More weight only exasperates the problem causing quality of life issues. And so the dominoes continue to fall.

The other option is choosing to act, choosing to change the situation. In other words, never letting the dominoes fall in the first place. If we are overweight or obese, we choose to seek help. We choose to surround ourselves with other like-minded people who share the same goals. This shared interest gives us momentum and support, much like we find at a concert, game, or race. At Damron Chiropractic & Wellness (DCW), this is exactly what you will find.

Wellness is a state of mind, but also a personal journey. The team at DCW will walk beside you every step of the way. We have helped countless individuals just like you. Dominoes don’t need to fall. You have the power to prevent that from ever happening. Come and experience the DCW difference. This is a choice you won’t regret.

Surprise Junk Foods You Didn’t Know Were Junk Foods

April 27, 2017 By Pam Rezai Leave a Comment

You’re finally ready. Finally ready to change your eating habits, join a gym, all to lose weight and get healthy. You start by researching different diets online, looking at supplements, and various nutritional products. In the end, you determine you are going to stay away from junk food, anything highly processed, eat more fruit, vegetables, and lean protein like chicken. You’re thinking, how hard can this be? Staying away from junk food is easy. Or is it?

If we walk through a grocery store we can easily spot junk food – donuts, cakes, chips, pizza, ice cream, and candy. It seems to be everywhere. In fact, we may be unintentionally eating junk food, without even knowing it.

The weight loss industry is worth $60 billion dollars (2016), with a lot of repeat customers. And try as we might to eat as healthy as possible, junk food might still be sneaking into our daily diet. Here are the most common offenders that most people don’t realize are not as nutritious for us as we think:

  1. Peanut Butter – While peanut butter is a good source of protein and low in carbohydrates, it can also contain sugar and salt. Check labels before adding it to your cart to be sure it contains only peanuts.
  2. Yogurt – Many brands are loaded with sugar and artificial colors.
  3. Soy Meat – Soy contains potentially disruptive endocrines that can cause bloating and skin irritation.
  4. Veggie Chips – Similar to potato chips with high sodium and trans fats.
  5. Whole Wheat Bread – Many varieties contain high fructose corn syrup.
  6. Dried Fruit – Producers add sugar and preservatives to the dried fruit to make it more tasty.
  7. Electrolyte Drinks – Most are loaded with artificial colors and sweeteners.
  8. Gluten-free Snacks – Gluten-free does not equal losing weight.
  9. Deli Meats – Stay away from the deli!
  10. Egg Substitutes – This is not a whole food. It is man-made and filled with artificial everything.
  11. Tri-Color Pasta – The vegetable portion is not enough to justify calling it healthy. Tri-color pasta is still loaded with carbohydrates.
  12. Low-Fat Salad Dressing – Just because something is low-fat does not mean it is good for you. Many of these dressings contain sugar, preservatives, artificial colors and salt. It’s easier to make your own dressing from scratch.
  13. Fruit Cocktail – Loads of syrup and sugar. Plus the BPA lining of the cans is dangerous to our health.
  14. Margarine – Is nothing more than fake butter. Not a whole food.
  15. Spinach Tortillas – Same as whole wheat bread and tri-color pasta. Virtually similar to regular tortillas from fiber to carbohydrates.
  16. Couscous – Made from wheat, therefor a form of pasta.
  17. Honey Roasted Nuts – Can you say “sugar coated candy”?
  18. White Rice Sushi – White rice is not as nutritionally dense as the brown rice. Plus, many varieties of sushi contain creamy sauces or fried toppings, both which are not healthy.
  19. Frozen Diet Meals – Check the ingredients. Most contain a lot of salt, sugar, and preservatives.
  20. Granola Bars – Most contain sugar or high fructose corn syrup.

You can make better choices when it comes to losing weight when you know the truth.

What to Expect With Extra Weight

March 21, 2017 By Pam Rezai Leave a Comment

One of the most popular books for soon-to-be parents is the book What to Expect When You Are Expecting. It gives a month to month description of what to expect throughout a woman’s pregnancy. Offering tips, developmental stages of the baby, and answers to common questions and concerns. A mother’s overall health can help the baby thrive through proper nutrition, adequate sleep, exercise, wellness check-ups. A lot of thought and preparation can go into having a baby. The question we need to ask ourselves is why do we stop caring for our body once the baby is born?

Granted this is a general statement, not one that applies to everyone. However, statistics tell us that this is true as a vast majority of adults are overweight or obese. Did the perception change because the baby was born and no longer dependent on the mother? The reality is that the baby is still dependent on it’s mother and those who care for it. However, if a parent or caregiver is not healthy due to excess weight, it does impact the child, whether we admit it or not.

Our children need us and we owe it to them to make that happen. Choosing to not take care of our body with:

  • poor nutrition
  • a sedentary lifestyle
  • not exercising
  • excessive drinking
  • smoking
  • extra weight
  • fast food

not only sets a bad example for our children, but also impacts our quality of life with them. We are purposely adding risk factors that could very likely shorten our lives. And what excuse do we really have? Are we too busy? Putting our kid’s needs first? Minimizing our situation? There are countless excuses we could use. Our bodies are not designed to function with extra weight as it impacts every system in our body.

Eventually this weight is likely to cause a major setback in our health, because our body simply can’t withstand the strain the extra weight. Just like a shelf that holds more than it should. Eventually it will collapse, dropping everything it was holding. Was the shelf poorly designed? Was it flawed in some way? No. It was simply not designed to carry more than it should. Are we any different than this shelf?

Belly Fat: The Silent Killer

March 16, 2017 By Pam Rezai 1 Comment

Remember the movie WALL-E (Disney, 2008)? A waste collecting robot, named WALL-E, is left on Earth after all humans have left. His only purpose for the past 700 years is to clean up the massive amounts of trash on the planet. Yet, despite the debris, he finds a living plant within the rubble. WALL-E then leaves Earth to save his love interest, EVE, and is brought to a space cruise ship where the humans live. Everyone on board is so fat that the only thing they do is recline in hovering chairs, watch t.v., video chat, and drink their meals through a straw. There is much more to the story, but the parallels to our present day society is somewhat disturbing.

Recent statistics suggest that more than two-thirds of Americans are either over-weight or obese. 92% of the world’s population living in areas with polluted air (World Health Organization, 2016). Over 5 trillion pieces of plastic are floating in our oceans (Science, 2/2015) and our landfills are overflowing. Perhaps a scenario similar to WALL-E isn’t too far fetched? However, unlike the movie, there are huge health concerns associated with this weight epidemic:

  • type 2 diabetes
  • coronary heart disease
  • hypertension
  • cancer
  • asthma
  • sleep apnea
  • non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
  • osteoarthritis
  • infertility
  • metabolic syndrome

Most people don’t realize that not all fat is created equal. In fact, the most deadly is the fat around our waistline, also called visceral fat or belly fat. Research has shown that belly fat is associated with chronic low-grade inflammation. This inflammation is a known precursor to the health conditions listed above.

To avoid this health risk, the following recommendations have been established by the National Institutes of Health:

  • Males should have a waistline less than 40 inches, when measuring from the tops of both hip bones.
  • Females should have a waistline less than 35 inches when measuring the same.

Wellness is definitely a journey, with many obstacles on our path. Using this guideline to navigate your journey is a great place to begin. You can easily take steps today that will help you avoid conditions that are preventable. Don’t let belly fat dictate where your journey takes you.

What To Expect When You’re Cleansing

February 23, 2017 By Pam Rezai 1 Comment

You’ve heard about cleansing and about going through one, however, you are hesitant to try one. The reasons are varied, yet it all comes back to one thing – you don’t know what to expect. Not knowing what to expect with anything is enough to stop someone in their tracks and prevent them from trying something new. Misconceptions prevail about what a cleanse actually is. People may think it means popping a bunch of supplements and drinking nothing but shakes for a week to ten days. Still others think it will leave them starving and miserable. Seriously, who wants to sign up for something that will only make them miserable for a week or two? No one. So, to set the record straight, this post will share with you the truth. That is, what to expect when you cleanse, or detoxify, your body when you use a reputable program.

First, to answer the question regarding supplements. Yes, there are certain supplements to take, but they serve several purposes:

  • To support healthy organ function, specifically kidney, liver and gallbladder.
  • To promote healthy digestive function.
  • Supporting the body as it rids itself of toxins.
  • Assisting with healthy elimination.
  • Aiding with whole food nutrition.

Supplementation plays a supporting role throughout the cleanse. The primary source of nutrition comes from REAL food. Yes, food that you can purchase at your local supermarket. Food like fresh fruit and vegetables, chicken, eggs, turkey, salmon, lentils, and quinoa. The key, however, is how you prepare your food, when you eat, and moving your body. Just like using a map to get to your destination, a reputable cleansing program should provide you with a map. A useful tool to guide you through every day, to minimize confusion, and offer clarity.

But, will you be HUNGRY during a cleanse? No. You will GET hungry, signalling that it’s time to nourish your body, however, you will NOT be hungry throughout your cleanse. Again, a reputable program will provide a map, telling you when to eat, why types of food you can eat, and how much. You are essentially retraining your body to eat healthy foods and portion sizes. Before the cleanse, you trained your body to crave certain foods, to eat more than you probably should. Cleansing cleans out all the junk from the unhealthy foods you at, resets your body’s systems, and primes you for a healthier lifestyle. All the while helping you to do things like lose weight, get better sleep, promote great skin, and simply feel better!

Why Put Yourself Through Detoxification?

February 15, 2017 By Pam Rezai Leave a Comment

Why would anyone want to eat clean, eliminate caffeine, cut carbs, and drink lots of water? Because we need to help our body rid itself from a build-up of harmful chemicals and toxins. Purification, detox, cleansing, and detoxification are all words that describe this ridding process. However, isn’t our body designed to do it internally?

Of the 80,000 chemicals registered for use in the U.S., many invade our body with simple exposure. This, in addition to the waste that is produced by our metabolic functions, overburdens our body’s natural detoxification process. Thus creating problems for our immune, endocrine, nervous, and reproductive systems. Detoxing is a great solution to combat this unhealthy situation that many of us find ourselves in today.

In any given day, we are exposed to a significant number of toxins from cigarette smoke (first- or secondhand), pesticides, household cleaning products, preservatives and additives, air and water pollutants, plus trans-fats. Some of the toxins are out of our control because they are in the environment. Yet others we voluntarily expose ourselves to by choosing to eat foods that are highly processed, fried, sugary, and boxed. Furthermore, many of us engage in unhealthy habits such as smoking, alcohol, caffeine, and not exercising. We then make the assumption that our body can handle this attack because we cannot see the internal damage it causes.

Our liver, kidneys, and intestines are responsible for removing toxins from our body, with the liver carrying a bulk of the work. We are designed to handle toxins, but in a amount that is far less than what we are exposed to. Advances in food shelf life, farming methods, and convenience foods have put significant strain on our detoxification organs that they were not designed to handle. The end result is a body that is overworked, under-performing, and leaving our body carrying the overflow of toxins that cannot be disposed of properly.

How can you tell if this is happening to your body? Here are a few questions you can answer to help if your body is on overload and in need of detoxing:

  • Do you have any joint discomfort?
  • Is your head usually stuffy?
  • Do you crave certain foods and gaining weight despite your best efforts to lose it?
  • Do you experience indigestion frequently?
  • Any temporary gastrointestinal upset?
  • Have you been experiencing a low libido?
  • Do you feel foggy during the day?
  • How does your skin look? Are you experiencing break-outs or puffiness?
  • Are you feeling tired throughout the day or having difficulty sleeping?

Detoxifying your body with a cleanse is similar to going on vacation because you are giving yourself much needed rest and relaxation. Detoxing allows your body to go on vacation, too, by giving it the tools it needs to purge itself of the excess toxins it has not been able to before. This re-calibration helps to sustain weight loss, increase your vitality, and improve overall wellness. So, the next time you feel the need for a vacation, think of your liver. Use that as a sign to give your liver a vacation too with a detoxification program. If you are unsure of where to begin, Damron Chiropractic & Wellness would be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Dr. Damron believes DCW’s unique approach to achieving overall wellness will revolutionize the healthcare industry through collaborative care utilizing chiropractic, massage therapy, rehabilitation, and nutrition. The DCW focus addresses the whole person versus a only symptom and uncovers the root cause. He also believes that education is vital to sustaining a healthier more vibrant lifestyle as well. Dr. Greg Washam, Chiropractor

Why ChiropracticProfessional Experience Personal Information
Dr. Washam was introduced to Chiropractic by his mother at the age of 16. She was working for a Chiropractor at the time, experiencing all the benefits that Chiropractic care had to offer, and thus began taking Dr. Washam and his siblings in for regular adjustments. Dr. Washam had been experiencing painful bouts of Strep Throat from the age of 8, which always included a 10 day course of antibiotics. While under Chiropractic care his doctor convinced him to avoid the antibiotics and receive Chiropractic adjustments instead. To his amazement, Dr. Washam’s strep throat symptoms had vanished within three days and he never had an issue from that point forward. He was so astounded by his experience that he fell in love with Chiropractic and decided that was the path for him. He wanted to commit his life to helping people through the power of Chiropractic, just as it had helped him.
Dr. Greg Washam began his college education at the University of Cincinnati, studying biology. After he made the decision to become a Chiropractor, he attended Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, MO. She loves the feeling of knowing she has alleviated someone’s pain and possibly made their day better in some way. She had been working alongside chiropractors for over 7 years before joining the DCW team. Before DCW she never really felt her opinions and insights were valued or even asked for, which she felt hindered patient care and the effectiveness of each treatment. At DCW she feels valued and part of a practice that is focused on changing the approach of wellness with cohesive and effective patient care.
Nicole is a graduate of the Dayton School of Medical Massage and obtained her license in 2008. She utilizes Deep Tissue, Swedish and Thai massage techniques to relieve pain, tension, and stress while increasing range of motion and flexibility.
Nicole is married to her husband of 5 years and they one daughter, Rylee, and one child on the way due in September 2016. As a family they enjoy camping, hiking and spending time at the lake during the summer.

Erika Pantona, Insurance Specialist

Why DCWProfessional Experience Personal Information
Erika started coming to DCW in 2010 after spending two years in substantial pain after an injury. She had spent those two years at various specialists and taking medications to simply get up in the morning due to the pain. She was 18 when she found herself facing a major, life altering surgery (SI Fusion) and realized there must be another way. When she began her treatment plan at DCW she started to have days with little or no pain. She stopped taking her medications and realized they had been affecting her overall mood. In 2015 Erika joined the DCW team because they allowed her to live her life once again. She wants to prevent others from living in pain like she did unnecessarily, and to receive the benefits of chiropractic care.
Erika is well versed in the insurance industry with her previous employment at Express Scripts and Anthem.
Erika has two siblings and resides in Liberty Township. In her spare time she enjoys traveling and hiking with her family.

Amy Faris, Patient Care Coordinator

Why DCWProfessional Experience Personal Information
After moving to Ohio in 2010, I was in need of some relief from minor pain associated with working in customer service fields for 15 years. I was interested in seeking alternative forms of therapy and found a chiropractor in our small town. After going for a few visits, the therapy seemed somewhat outdated compared to what I had researched. In talking with my husband, he remembered that he knew someone who was a chiropractor. After just a few visits with Dr. Damron, I definitely noticed a difference in his techniques and style. It was nice to see results and feel like I was being listened to as a patient, not just heard…something you don’t always feel with doctors. After being a patient for several years, the opportunity came about to join the DCW team. It would be something different from what I had done in my past, however I knew my passion for working with people would translate well into helping patients receive the best care possible. I believed in the mission of DCW as a patient, and I am excited to be part of living that mission every day.
I am originally from St. Louis, MO. I graduated from the University of Missouri – Columbia with a degree in Secondary Education – Language Arts. I worked in restaurant/catering management for several years before starting a career in retail management and training.
In that position, I met my husband, Matt, who is from Wilmington, OH. After we got married in 2010, I moved to Wilmington. Realizing retail wasn’t where my heart was any longer, I began working as a substitute teacher in the Clinton County area. Matt and I live in Wilmington with our 6 year old German Shepard, Dale. I enjoy camping, boating, riding 4-wheelers, and spending time with family and friends. I love St. Louis Cardinals baseball and am a recently converted Cincinnati Bengals fan.
